  If there is no laser light on the sample, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the transmitted-light arm is tilted back; if so, tilt it into a vertical position. Another cause might be that the reflector turret is unlocked or fully extracted; in this case, lock or push the reflector turret in. Finally, ensure that the shutter at Cell Observer SD is open by pressing the Shutter button.

  If the spinning disc unit is on, and the control LED lights are illuminated, but no function is available, the fuse of the CSU-X1 control box may have been triggered. In this case, turn the automatic circuit breaker at the back of the CSU-X1 control box on again. It could also be that the shutter is closed, so try opening it.
