entofafireorpoisonousCOgas
emergency,theinstalledsmokeorcarbon
monoxidedetectorautomaticallyactivates
yoursecuritysystem.Notonlywillthefire
alarmitselfemitaloudsound,theControl
Panelemitsanint ermittentandloudhorn
onanexternalsounder(ifanexternal
sounderha
sbeeninstalled).Thefirealarm
soundcontinuesunti lthetimerexpireson
theFireAlarmoruntilyouenterausercode
attheControlPanel.
IftheAlarmSounds:
• Getoutandstayout.Nevergoback
insideforpeopleorpets.
•Ifyo
uhavetoescapethroughsmoke,
getdownlowandgounderthesmoke.
•Callthefiredepartmentfromoutside
yourhome.
Initiating a Fire Alarm
Manually
Ifyoubecomeawareofafireemergency
beforeyourdetector(s)senseanissue:
IMPORTANT: Alwaysyell“Fire”toalert
everyoneinproximity.
1 GotheControlPanelandtapthe
Emerge ncy
button.
2 AttheEmergencyscreen,pressand
holdtheFirebuttonfortwo(2)seconds.
Thisactiontr
iggersthefirealarm’s
sounderandsiren.Youcanalsotrigger
thefirealarmfr omthewirelesskeypad
byholdingdowntheFirebutton.
3 Getoutandsta youtofthedwelling.
Nevergobackinsideforpeopleorpets.
4 CallyourlocalFireDepartmentfroma
safelocationoutsidethedwelling.
If the Fire Alarm Sounds
Automatically
Ifthefirealarmsirensaresounding:
1 Ifflamesandsmok earepresent,yell
“Fire”toalerteveryoneelse.
2 Evacuatealloccupantsfromthe
premisesandcallyourlocalFire
Departmentfromasafelocation.
OR
1 Ifnoflamesorsmokeareapparent,
investigatethecausesofthealarm.
2 GototheControlPanelandenteryour
usercodetostopthefiresounderand
sirens.
3 ReviewtheAlarmMemorytodetermine
whichsensorcausedthealarm.
4 Gotothesensorandlookforapossible
reasonthesensortripped.
5 Correcttheconditionthatcausedthe
detectortotriggeranalarm.
Silencing a False Fire Alarm
Ifthefirealarmissoundingduetoa
detectorsensingburntfoodorsomeother
non‐emergencycondition:
1 Silencethefirealarmsounderby
enteringyourusercode.
2 Reviewthealarmmemorytodetermine
whichsensorcausedthealarm(See
"AlarmMemory"onpage18).Ifthe
alarmrest
arts,theremaystillbesmoke
insidethedetector’ssensor.Re‐enter
yourusercodetostopthealarmfrom
continuingtosound.
3 Fanthedetectorfor30secondstoclear
thedetector’ssensorchamber.
4 Aftertheproblemhasbeencorrect ed,
fromtheAlarmMemoryscreen,check
ClearAlarmHistory,thentapOk.
NOTE: Vi

5 Carefullyinspectyourpremisesforfire,
heat,orgasifyourFireAlarmsandCO
Detectorsremaininalarmstate.
