AWAY MODE
Awaymodeisforarmingthesystemwhen
everyoneisleavingthepremises.Away
modearmsallsensor‐protectedperimeter
doorsandwindows,interiormotionsensors,
interiorglassbreaksensors,andanyother
sensor‐protectedinteriordoors.The
premisesmustbeunoccupiedwhilethe
systemisarmed.Awaymodeistypically
usedforarmingthesystemduringthe
daytimehoursinaresidentiallocation,and
non‐businesshoursinacommerciallocation.
WhenthesystemisarmedinAwa ymode,
youcannotmoveaboutthepremises
withouttriggeringtheburglaryalarm(ifthe
systemisinstalledwithint eriormotion
detectors).Analarm
alsooccursifany
sensor‐protecteddoororwindowisopened
orglassbreakageisdetected(ifglass
breakagedetectorsareinstalledinyour
system).
Exit and Entry Delays in Away
mode
Certainsensors,suchasadoor,canbesetup
byyourinstallertohaveadelaybefore
triggeringanalarm.Thisprovidesawayfor
anauthorizedpersontoexitandre‐enterthe
premiseswithouttriggeringanalarm.
• ExitDelayallowstimetoleaveafter
armingthesystem.
• EntryDelayallowstimetoenterand
disarmthesystembeforeanalarmis
triggered.
Whenarmingthesystemin
Awaymode,anEntryDela y
checkboxisshownonthe
Armingscreen.Bydefault,
thisoptionischecked,sothe
programmeddelaydoorsallowtimefor
disarmingthesystemafterthedooris
opened.IfyoucleartheEntryDelaybox,the
delayedalarmtrigger
isremovedfromall
sensor‐protecteddoorsprogrammedfor
delay.Thoseentrancesinstantlytriggeran
alarmiftheyareopenedinAwaymode.
NOTE: WiththeEntryDelaydisabled,
youmustremotelydisarmthe
systemwithawirelesskeyfob
beforeentering.
Exit Delay Restart
TheExitDelayRestartoptionextendsthe
ExitDelayonetimeifyouneedtore‐enter
thepremises.WiththeExitDelayRestart
option,whenyoure‐enterthepremises
afteryouhaveleft,butbeforetheExitDelay
timerexpires,theExitDelaytimerrestarts,
givingyouthefull
lengthoftimetoleave
again.
TIP: TheExitDelayRestartoptiononlyworks
once,eachtimethesystemisarmed.
Silent Control in Away Mode
Threeoptionsforsilencingthebeepsand
announcementsareavailablewhenarming
ordisarmingthesysteminAwaymode.
•OntheControlPanel’sHomeand
Securityscreens,aSilentControlbutton
isdisplay ed.
•OntheArmingscreen,aSilentExit
checkboxisdisplayed.
•OntheExitDelayscreen,aSilence
buttonisdisplayed.
Selectinganyoftheseoptionssilencesthe
ControlPanelbeepsandannouncements,
andwhenarming;selectingSilentControl
doublesthelengthoftheExitDelay.
