SENSOR STATUS
Thesecuritysystemconstantlymonitorsallofthesensorsat tachedtotheprotecteddoors
andwindowsinyourhomeorbusiness.TheControlPanelknowsifeachdoororwindowwith
sensorsisopenorclosed.Theopenorclosedconditionoftheprotecteddoorsandwindowsis
calledthesensors
tatus.
Formaximumsecurity,allthedoorsandwindowsonyourpremisesshouldbeclosedwhen
youleavethebuilding.Insomecases,suchaswhenusingthesecuritysystemwhenyoustay
athome,youmaywanttoleavesomedoorsorwindowsopen.Thesystemrecognizes
bypassestoresolvetheopendoorsorwindows.See"Bypassing/Un‐BypassingSensors"on
page12.
NOTE: Bef
oreyoucanarmthesystem,youmustcloseorbypassalldoorsandwindows
withsensors.
CHECKING FOR CLOSED SENSORS
Inmostcases,youwillbearmingthesecuritysystemwithallofthesensor‐protecteddoors
andwindowsclosed.TheControlPanelprovideseasywaystoverifythatallthesensor‐
protecteddoorsandwindowsareclosedbeforearmingthesystem:
•The
Homebuttonlightsgreenwhenallperimetersensorsareclosed.The Home
buttonisnotli
tifanyperimetersensorisopen.Openinteriorsensorsdonotchangethis
indication.
•TheSec
uritybuttononthedisplay’sHomescreenlightsgreenwhenallperimetersensors
areclosed.TheSecuritybuttonlightsorangeifanyperimetersensorisopen.Open
interiorsensorsdonotchangethisindication.
•TheArmb
uttononthedisplay’sSecurityscreenandMenuscr eenlightsgreenwhenall
perimetersensorsareclosed.Ifanyinteriorsensorsareopen(orwhenanymotion
detectoristriggered),ahouseicondisplaysonthestatusbar.TheArmbuttonlights
orange ifanyperimetersensorisopen.
