4 Removal/ Installation, Replacement and Adjustment
Polychromator
Collimator and Focus mirror access
1 Removal of the left hand side instrument cover provides access to focus mirror M7 and
Collimator mirror M6. (See section on left hand top cover removal).
Pilot mirror M5
1 Loosen 4 pozidrive screws and remove the poly access end cover.
2 Remove screws and remove the pilot mirror casting access cover.
3 Remove the three screws retaining the pilot mirror alignment bracket and remove pilot mirror
assembly from casting.
4 Using a small hex key or similar slide the pilot mirror from the spring clips and mounting
blocks.
5 Install a new pilot mirror under the spring clips by sliding back in under the clips. (Make sure
reflective side faces away from mounting block).
