9 Withdraw the vial 1 mm. This prevents damage when you tighten the
collar.
10 Turn the collar clockwise to tighten it.
The collar should be snug but not overly tight. Do
not use a tool to tighten
the collar. It does not require that much force.
11 Reinstall the analyzer window cover.
12 Purge the EI calibration valve. (See “To Purge the Calibration Valves” on
page 130.)
Failure to purge the calibration valve will result in damage to the filaments and
detector.
