70 7705 SAR-M Chassis Installation Guide
Caution: On those chassis variants equipped with T1/E1 ports, when a T1/E1 port that is
configured for T1 is connected to external equipment or is in physical loopback, ensure that
the external equipment’s transmit signal is attenuated according to the distance of the
T1/E1 port receiver. Adjust LBO settings such that the T1/E1 port receiver’s nominal input
voltage level is < 3Vp. Refer to “Configuring T1 Line Buildout” in the 7705 SAR OS Interface
Configuration Guide for detailed information on attenuating transmit signals.
Note:
• Prepare the equipment rack and site before installing the 7705 SAR-M chassis. Plan the
chassis placement near the power sources and network interface connections.
• The actively cooled variant of the 7705 SAR-M chassis weighs approximately 7.5 lbs
(3.4 kg).
• The passively cooled variant of the 7705 SAR-M chassis weighs approximately 8.8 lbs
(4.0 kg).
• Always install the heaviest equipment on the bottom of the rack to keep the center of
gravity of the equipment rack as low as possible.
• The 7705 SAR-M chassis includes factory-installed, rack-mounting brackets for
mounting in a 19-inch equipment rack.
• European customers can order adapter brackets for ETSI rack mounting (for actively
cooled chassis variants).
