Chapter 21
Access Points
In AOS-W, related configuration parameters are grouped into profiles that you can apply as needed to an AP
group or to individual APs. When an AP is first installed on the network and powered on, the AP locates its host
switch and the AP’s designated configuration is pushed” from the switch to the AP. This chapter gives an
overview of the basic function of each AP profile, and describes the process to install and configure the APs on
your network.

Important Points to Remember
If you modify the configuration of an AP, those changes take effect immediately; you do not need to reboot
the switch or the AP for the changes to affect the current running configuration. Certain commands, however,
automatically force the AP radio to restart.
AP Settings Triggering a Radio Restart
Changing the following settings triggers the radio to restart on the OAW-AP200 Series, OAW-AP203H, OAW-
AP203R Series, OAW-AP205H, OAW-AP210 Series, OAW-AP220 Series, OAW-AP228, OAW-AP270 Series, OAW-
AP300 Series, OAW-AP303H, OAW-AP310 Series, OAW-AP320 Series, OAW-AP330 Series, or OAW-AP360 Series
access points. When the radio restarts, wireless services will be briefly interrupted. Clients will automatically
