Parameter Description
Re-auth delay Define the delay time (in seconds) that a mobile device waits before
attempting re-association to the same BSS or ESS. The supported range is
0- 65535. A value of 0 indicates that the re-auth delay may be decided by
the mobile device.
Session Information URL Configure this attribute to allow the AP to send a BSS Transition
Management Request frame before the mobile device’s session is
terminated, warning the user that their session is about to end. The URL
provides the location of a server with information on how to extend the
session. This URL must be in the format http://www.example.com.
802.11u QoS Map DSCP
Exceptions
If you use the 802.11u QoS Map DSCP Ranges parameter to map DSCP
ranges for each 802.11 User Priority (UP), you can configure this optional
parameter to define up to 21 exceptions to those DSCP ranges.
DSCPvalues 0-63 and 255 must be defined in hexadecimal format (0-3F or
FF), and the UP level in a value from 0-7. Multiple exceptions must be
separated by a comma. For example: wlan hotspot hs2-profile <profile-
name> dscp-ranges 35:2,16:6
NOTE: You can configure 802.11u QoSMap DHCPExceptions even if you
are using the default 802.11u QoS Map DSCP Ranges.
802.11u QoS Map DSCP
Ranges
Hotspot 2.0 can ensure the connection quality for a mobile client that
roams from a cellular to a Wi-Fi connection by mapping a service
provider's over-the-air QoSpolicies to the WLAN's DHCP markers. This
parameter defines eight ranges of DSCP values that map to 802.11User
Priority (UP) levels 0-7.
Each value range includes a low and high DHCP value for that UP level.
Each of the eight ranges, corresponding to UP levels 0-7, must be
separated by a comma. DHCPvalues 0-63 and 255 must be defined in
hexadecimal format (0-3F or FF), and values for each range must not
overlap.
The following example defines a range of DSCP values for each of the
seven UP levels: wlan hotspot hs2-profile <profile-name> dscp-ranges
08-0F,00-07,FF-FF,10-1F,20-27,FF-FF,28-2F,30-3F
NOTE: If the 802.11u QoS Map DSCP Ranges are not configured, the
hotspot feature uses a value of FF-FF,FF-FF,FF-FF,FF-FF,FF-FF,FF-FF,FF-FF,FF-
FF for the 802.11u DSCP ranges.
In the CLI
To configure a Hotspot 2.0 profile from the switch CLI, access the CLI in config mode and issue the following
command:
(host) (config) #wlan hotspot hs2-profile <profile-name>
Configuring Hotspot Advertisement Profiles
An advertisement profile defines a set of ANQP and H2QP profiles for the hotspot feature. Advertisement
profiles can reference multiple instances of some ANQP and H2QP profile types, but only a single instance of
other ANQP and H2QP profiles. The table below shows how the different ANQP and H2QP profile types can be
associated to a single advertisement profile.
