AP Deployment Policy
Starting with AOS-W 6.5.3.0, users can predefine the APmode using the APdeployment policy. The
APdeployment policy redirects all APs in the specified IP address ranges to the Instant discovery process,
ensuring that the APs run only in switch-less mode. This policy is enforced each time an AP in the specified IPv4
or IPv6 address range connects to a switch and upgrades to the AOS-W image. The switch automatically
identifies the targeted AP, rejects the APtermination, and redirects the APto upgrade to switch-less mode.
Users can define up to 128 IPv4 and IPv6 address ranges for the APdeployment policy.
In the CLI
To apply the APdeployment policy to the default APgroup, execute the following commands:
(host) (config) #ap deploy-profile
(host) (ap deploy-profile) #default-ap-group
To apply the APdeployment policy to an IPv4 address range, execute the following commands:
(host) (config) #ap deploy-profile
(host) (ap deploy-profile) #ip-range <start> <end>
To apply the APdeployment policy to an IPv6 address range, execute the following commands:
(host) (config) #ap deploy-profile
(host) (ap deploy-profile) #ipv6-range <start> <end>
To remove the IPaddress range or default APgroup from the profile, execute the following command:
(host) (config) #no ap deploy-profile
To view the complete list of IPaddress ranges to which the APdeployment policy is applied, execute the
following command:
(host) #show ap deploy-profile
