Prepare the Kinetix 5500 Drive Hardware Chapter 1
Ground the Kinetix 5500 Drive
1. Ground Kinetix 5500 drives to a bonded cabinet ground bus with a braided ground strap or 4.0 mm

(12 AWG)
copper wire.
2. Grounded power distribution is recommended; however, for ungrounded or corner-ground power, remove the two
gr
ounding screws.
The two grounding screws are behind the sliding door on the drive side panel.

Braided Ground Straps
25.4 mm (1.0 in.) by 6.35 mm (0.25 in.).
Keep lengths as short as possible.
