5. Installation and Connection
5-2
(2) Grounding Work
For the 200 V input voltage model (200–240 V)
Perform class D grounding work (grounding resistance: 100 Ω max.,
grounding wire: φ1.6 min.).
For the 400 V input voltage model (380–480 V)
Perform class C grounding work (grounding resistance: 10 Ω max., grounding
wire: φ1.6 min.).
(3) Basic Connection
Be sure to ground the equipment. Be sure to install the terminal
cover after wiring.
Be sure to install an earth leakage breaker on electricity input part to
protect from an over current and electric leak.
(Note) Earth leakage breaker
Breaker rated current
Calculate the average Input current using output current (momentary maximum
current) and duty cycle:
Average input current = I x 0.817 x
Select the breaker rated current of at least the average input current above.
Check the coordination of output current (momentary maximum current) and
tripping time on the tripping characteristic curve of the breaker to select the
appropriate breaker.
(Example)
Transformer secondary current = 6000 A / Duty cycle = 10%
Transformer used: ITH-651B6W, Set current: 6000 A, Duty cycle: 10%,
and Transformer turn ratio: 32 : 1 (200 V)
Primary output current = 6000÷32 = 188 A
188 x 0.817 x = 49 (A)
Breaker of at least 49
A (60
A) must be selected.
