Prepare the StepOne
™
Software for Standalone Use
After installing the StepOne
™
software, set the software preferences so that the software
does not attempt to connect to the instrument at startup or confirm the status of the
RNase P experiment.
Start the
Software
1. In the desktop, double-click StepOne Software v2.0 (or select
StartAll Programs Applied BiosystemsStepOne Software
StepOne Software v2.0).
2. When the StepOne
™
software splash screen appears, compare the software version
number on screen to the version number on the software box that arrived with your
StepOne
™
instrument.
If the version number is less than the version on the software box, close the
StepOne
™
software, then load the Applied Biosystems StepOne
™
Real-Time PCR
System Software CD into the computer to update the software.
3. When the Instrument Connection Failed dialog box appears, click Continue
without connection.
