2.3.6 Platform Compatibility Considerations
Aspect’s new sensors (BIS Quatro, BIS Extend and BIS Pediatric) are only compatible
with new BIS systems (BIS XP Platform and XP Compatible) by virtue of an improved
sensor connector (see figure below) and other features.

Caution:
Mixing of system configurations will increase sensor and hardware
inventory requirements and may create user and support issues.
2.3.7 Upgrading A-2000 Standard Systems
Aspect offers two upgrade options for A-2000 systems:

Also available is the Pediatric Upgrade Kit (P/N 186-0136), which includes a PIC Plus
Adapter and 25 BIS Pediatric sensors.
Aspect or your local distributor will help coordinate upgrades including the following:
• Software upgrade (if necessary) to System Software 3.10 or above
• Replacement and return of appropriate cabling (e.g., DSC-2s, PIC-Ss)
• Replacement and return of obsolete BIS sensors (if covered)
• Follow-up in-servicing (e.g., new BIS Quatro or BIS Extend placement)
Contact Aspect or your local distributor at your earliest convenience to schedule your
upgrade.
Note:
Customers are encouraged to manage sensor inventory to minimize
levels on upgrade day, as Aspect (or distributor) may not cover complete
replacement.
