3.9 SOFTWARE UPDATES
The A-2000 monitor will automatically begin a software update if a software update
device, attached to the serial port, is detected when the monitor power is turned on.
Follow these steps to perform the update:
1. Before attempting an update, be sure to record your institution’s saved settings,
as they will be erased during the update procedure. If a printer is connected,
access any menu and press [PRINT].
2. With the power off, connect the updating device to the Serial port at the rear of
the monitor.
3. Turn the power on. As soon as the updating device is detected, the message
“Software Update Device Detected” appears on the screen.
4. Press [SELECT] to initiate the update. (Press [MENU/EXIT] to skip update and
the monitor will operate with the current software.) The update begins, and the
message “Software Update In Progress. Do NOT Disconnect Software Update
Device” appears. When the update is complete, the message “Software Update
Successful” appears.
5. Disconnect software update device, then press [MENU/EXIT] to resume normal
operation.
6. Re-enter your saved settings and save them in the Advanced Setup Menu.
Note:
When software is upgraded, all monitor configuration settings will be lost.
Additionally, previously recorded data may be lost. Therefore,
configuration settings and previous data should be recorded before the
software update is performed.
