Sensor Check - Sensor impedance checks are initiated automatically when the PIC and
sensor are attached to the DSC. You may initiate another check at any time by selecting
this option.
To initiate the check:
1. Press [MENU/EXIT] to access the Setup Menu.
2. Highlight Sensor Check, using the [↑] or [↓] arrows.
3. Press [SELECT].
The check may be aborted at any time by pressing [MENU/EXIT]. When the check has
been completed successfully, the screen will exit automatically. For details on the
sensor check procedure, refer to "The Sensor Check" in Section 3.2.
Display Type – Allows the user to select the display in the graphic display region from
four choices: Trend, DSA (Density Spectral Array), EEG, or BIS Log.
To change Display Type:
1. Press [MENU/EXIT] to access the Setup Menu.
2. Highlight Display Type using the up [↑] or down [↓] arrows.
3. Press [SELECT] until the desired display type appears in reverse video.
4. Press the up [↑] or down [↓] arrows to move to the next menu item, or
5. Press [MENU/EXIT] to exit.
The system always defaults to the Trend display.
BIS Smoothing Rate (secs.) - The A-2000 offers two choices of smoothing rates over
which the BIS value is averaged:
• 15 seconds (Provides increased responsiveness to state changes, such as
induction or awakening). This is the default setting unless a BIS Extend Sensor
is attached or the system is set to ICU mode.
• 30 seconds (Provides a smoother trend with decreased variability and sensitivity
to artifact). This is the default setting when a BIS Extend Sensor is attached or
when the system is set to ICU mode in the System Configuration Menu.
To change the BIS Smoothing Rate:
1. Press [MENU/EXIT] to access the Setup Menu.
2. Highlight BIS Smoothing Rate using the up [↑] or down [↓] arrows.
3. Press [SELECT] until the desired smoothing rate appears in reverse video.
4. Press the up [↑] or down [↓] arrows to move to the next menu item, or
5. Press [MENU/EXIT] to exit.
To permanently save this change, use the “Save Settings” option in the Advanced Setup
Menu.
Advanced Setup Menu
To display the Advanced Setup Menu:
1. Press [MENU/EXIT] to access the Setup Menu.
2. Highlight Advanced Setup using the up [↑] or down [
↓] arrows.
3. Press [SELECT].
