Removing
Note
Mark brake pads when removing them if they are to be rein‐
stalled. Fit in same position when installing otherwise uneven
braking will be caused.
It is recommended to apply the electronic parking brake again
after driving long distances.
The clearance between brake disc and brake pad is adjusted
automatically approx. every 1000 km, unless the EPB is op‐
erated while covering this distance.
The brake disc is secured with a cross-head screw.
Raise vehicle.
Remove wheels.
Caution
On vehicles with ceramic brakes the wheel must not be allowed
to drop onto the brake disc. This would cause irreparable dam‐
age to the disc. Screw two assembly pins into the wheel bolt
holes when removing and fitting a wheel. Insert the long as‐
sembly pin into the top hole.
With ignition switched off, connect vehicle diagnostic, testing
and information system - VAS 5051B- or -VAS 5052- to 16-pin
diagnostic connector in vehicle and select parking brake with
“address word” 53.
