Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
– Select function “53 - Parking brake”.
– Select function “04 - Basic setting”.
Indicated on display of VAS 5051:
♦ The prompt to enter a display group appears in display zone
-1-.
♦ Display zone -2- shows a keypad.
When installing new or used brake pads
– Enter “7” as “display group number” via the keypad in display
zone -2- and confirm entry with the "Q key" (resetting piston).
– Press the green arrow button (bottom left) to exit from the
input mask.
Note
♦ Ignition off
♦ The brake disc is secured with a cross-head screw -arrow-.
– Remove wheels.
– Remove securing bolts from brake caliper housing, when do‐
ing this counter-hold on guide pins.
Note
♦ Do not unplug connection of actuator motor or brake system,
otherwise a fault will be registered in the memory.
♦ Do not apply tension on brake hose or electrical wiring.
– Move brake caliper clear to one side or tie up on body.
– Remove brake pads.
– Remove guide clips.
– Press brake piston back.
