Caution
If a capillary tube, bent back as shown in Figure 2-24, is placed higher than the
lower flange of the process, the tank internal pressure must be at least as high as the
atmospheric pressure. Accordingly, if the tank internal pressure becomes lower than the
atmospheric pressure, the bent-back capillary tube must be lower than the lower flange
of the process.
If the capillaries extend upward relative to the horizontal plane, be sure to use capillary
tubes with an olefin coating. If the capillary tubes do not have an olefin coating, there is
a risk that rainwater will accumulate inside the protective pipe of the extended portion of
the capillaries, causing corrosion.
