3.3 Starting up and adjusting the system
Adjustment steps
1. Select the corresponding lens parameters for the installed lens. See user guide of the Comm unicator chapter Installation >
Advanced > Lens parameters.
2. Alignment of the p rojected image on the screen. The ima ge can be aligned with the screen size of the application. Follow
the next steps to achieve that:
a) Press the STANDBY button on the Local Keypad to activate the light source.
b) Press the DO W SER button on the Local Keypad to open the electronic dows er of the projector. The electronic dowser is open
if the color of the D OW S ER button is GREE N.
c) Press the T EST PATTERN button on the Local Ke ypad to project one of the internal test patterns of the projector on the
screen.
d) Performa“Lens Homing”. See user guide of the Comm unicator.
e) Use the lens ZOOM, SHIFT and FOCUS buttons on the Local Keypad to match the projected image with the screen. Tilt the
projector in case you can not SHIFT the image com pletely upon the s creen. See "Positioning the DP2K SLP-ser
ies projector
at port window", page 28.

3. Adjusting the light path. N ormally the lens holder and the convergence of the projector are perfectly adjus ted at the factory.
Nevertheless, some applications require a readjustment o f the lens holder, convergence or both. See procedure "Scheimpflug",
page 9 3, and "Convergence", page 105.
4. Creating screen files, lens files, and m acro files for FLAT and for SCOPE. See user guide of the Com munic ator.
5. Perform Color calibration. S ee chapter "Color calibration", page 113.
6. Create light sensor calibration (LSC) files. See user guide of the Co mmunicator
.
7. Backup of all projector configuration files. S ee user guide of the Communicator.
8. Registration of the pro jector. The DP2K SLP-series pr ojector is DCI compliant and s hould be registered.
9. Projection of a digital cinema movie.
In case the projector is equipped with an ICMP, download the ICMP device certificate, r equest KDM and DC P from your content
supplier, ingest KDM and DCP, and play out the m ovie. for detailed instructions see chapter "ICMP", page 53, a nd user guide of
the Comm unicator and/or (Web) Commander.
In case the projector is equipped with a HD-SDI input m odule apply a single or dual channel SM PT E (HD- SDI) source to the input
ports of the HD-SDI input module and start up the p rojector. See chapter "Starting up", page 89. Use the Communic ator (Touch
Panel) to configure the applied source. See the user guide of the Com mun icator (Touch Panel) for more detailed information.
In c ase the projector is equipped with an Integrated Media Block (IMB ) or Integrated Media S erver (IMS) see user guide of the
IMB or IMS for detailed instructions.
