7.7.2 Installation in ambient with combustible dust Class II
Important:
Electric Actuator shall be installed and maintained
according to the applicable Rules set in Article 502 of
the NEC
7.7.2.1 Class II Division 1 and 2
The general rule of the National Electrical Code®, Article 502 shall apply to
the electrical wiring and equipment in location classified as Class II in Article
500.5 (C) of NEC and in particular:
- wiring methods shall comply with 502.10 including cable glands and
conduits;
- sealing shall comply with 502.15
- un-insulated exposed part shall comply with 502.25
- grounding and bonding with 502.30
- equipment shall comply with 502.100 up to 502.150
Particular attention must to these following points:
before the assembly the joint surfaces must be greased with silicon oil or
equivalent.
the fittings and entries shall have a protection degree at minimum NEMA
4, 4X and 6 in order not to jeopardize the enclosure protection of the
product.
periodically verify the quantity of dust deposited on the enclosure and
clean it in the case the quantity becoming more than 5mm.
