9.3 USER-ACCESS TO THE MAINTENANCE MODE
Basically, the maintenance-mode functions listed on the previous page should be accessed by
service personnel only. However, you can allow end users to access some of these under the
guidance of service personnel (e.g., by telephone).
The user-accessible functions (codes 10 to 12, 52, 53, 66, 75, 76, 80, 82, 87, 88, and 91) are
shaded
in the table given on the previous page. Function code 10 accesses the firmware
switches, each of which has eight selectors. You should not allow end users to access all of
those selectors, but you can allow them to access user-accessible selectors which are shaded
in
the firmware switch tables in Appendix 4.
The service personnel should instruct end users to follow the procedure given below.
(1) Press the Menu, Black Start (Mono Start), Menu, and Black Start (Mono Start) keys in
this order.
The "MAINTENANCE 10" appears on the LCD.
TIP: For models with numerical keypad, you may press the Menu, Black Start (Mono
Start), and 0 keys instead in the same way as conventional models. Then pressing 1 and 0
keys, for example, calls up the setting screen for Function code 10.
(2) To access function code 10, press the OK key.
To access any other function code, call up the desired code using the and keys or
numerical keys.
Then press the OK key.
For function code 10, access the desired firmware switch according to the operating
procedure described in Appendix 4.
(3) To make the machine return to standby, press the Stop/Exit key. When each of the user-
accessible functions is completed, the machine automatically returns to standby.
