4.6.1 Mixing auger with cutting blades
The mixing auger is equipped with cutting blades (1)
which reduce the fodder components filled into the hop-
per. The product is moved up and down over a spiral
helix (2), which ensures that consistent mixture and re-
duction take place. The discharge arm (3) in the lower
region of the mixing auger assures quick and even dis-
pensing of the mixed components.
The cutting blades can be adjusted from an aggressive
position (4) to a degressive position (5) on the mixing
auger by tightening or loosening the screw. The adjusta-
ble cutting blades enable adaption of the mixing system
to the individual operating conditions and the structure of
the components to be mixed.
Aggressive = short mixing time, higher power re-
quirement
Degressive = longer mixing time, reduced power
requirement
Special equipment:
Extensions (6) for the cutting blades can provide for a
more even discharge of the different fodder components.
The extensions (6) for the cutting blades are installed
when the fodder components are particularly dry and
consist of long-fiber materials.
Raex hard surfacing:
The Raex 400 hard surfacing (Fig. 4-12) consists of
hardened, wear-resistant special steel that provides ex-
treme resistance to abrasive wear and high surface
pressure. Extends the service life of the mixing auger
under extensive stress. Perfect for retrofitting mixing
augers that show a medium degree of wear.
