7.7 Cutting blades of the mixing auger
Regularly sharpen the cutting blades of the mixing auger.
Dull cutting blades increase the required drive power of the mixing auger and, thus,
the power consumption of the machine.
Check the cutting blades for obvious defects on a daily basis. Replace damaged or
worn cutting blades in good time.
7.7.1 Sharpening cutting blades
Risks from ejected grinding particles while the cutting blades are being sharpened!
These hazards cause severe injury, in particular eye injuries.
Always wear safety goggles while sharpening cutting blades.
Use an angle grinder with a flapped disc (Fig. 7-12) to sharpen the cutting blades.
Carefully resharpen the cutting blades without causing the cutting blades to heat up
excessively. If the cutting blades become discolored while sharpening:
o They have heated up significantly.
o The service life of the cutting blades is reduced.
1. Enter the empty mixing hopper to sharpen the cut-
ting blades via a discharge opening. Also observe
the chapter "Entering the mixing hopper", starting
on page 79.
2. Wear protective goggles and protective gloves.
3. Remove all foreign objects (tools, etc.) from the
mixing hopper.
4. After the work is completed, exit the mixing hopper
via the discharge opening.
