Energy Saving Function
■ Overview
This machine is equipped with a power-saving function.
The following shows energy saving status and condition of transition.
Status Description Condition of Transition
Panel sleep Panel Off When [Energy Saver] key is pressed
Engine sleep The panel and engine are turned OFF. When the time to transition to these modes
has elapsed (Default setting: 5 minutes)
* When USB is connected, the mode re-
mains unchanged.
Deep sleep The panel, engine and controller are turned
OFF. (Only Power LED lights up.)
■ Conditions for Not Entering Deep Sleep
The machine does not enter deep sleep when any of the following conditions are met.
• When a job is in progress (including internal jobs in progress such as calibration and cleaning)
• While the Front Cover is open
• While an error code is displayed/during a jam
• During a firmware update
• When the cartridge is not installed
• When information cannot be read from the cartridge memory (including a failure of the memory and a state in which the
memory is not yet installed)
• When the life warning of the cartridge is displayed
