Front Panel Lock
The Front Panel Lock funcon is intended to minimize the probability of unintenonal adjustments to the system. Press
MENU, select “BaseStaon Sengs,” scroll and select “Front Panel Lock,” press 1 or ENT to select
Lock. Press MENU to exit
to the main Operaonal screen. The buons and knobs on the front of the BaseStaon will not funcon unl unlocked,
except for the power switch which will power the unit OFF. When the BaseStaon is powered on it is always unlocked.
• Press MENU + ENTER to unlock.
Call Funcon
On the BaseStaon front panel, select a channel by pressing the Volume control. Press and hold CALL for as long as you
want the Call signal to go out on the channel.
A Call signal will be received by users who are listening on the channel that originated the Call signal.
Stage Announce (SA)
The Stage Announce (SA) funcon in the Tempest BaseStaon is used to send a wireless BeltStaon microphone signal to
a dedicated external audio output. When a wireless user presses the STAGE buon on the BeltStaon, their audio is re-
routed from the selected intercom channel(s) and is sent to the BaseStaon rear panel SA connector. In addion, a relay
closure contact is available on the RELAY connector on the back of the BaseStaon. Pressing the STAGE buon enables
the headset microphone regardless of the status of the Talk buons. If enabled, all BeltStaons can access this feature.
The Stage Announce output connector is an XLR-3M. The Stage Announce connector is balanced and transformer isolated
and outputs nominal line level audio from -4 to +8 dBu. The Stage Announce connector output level can be adjusted at
the “Stage Announce” menu screen, under “Wired Intercom Sengs.”
In addion, the Stage buon may be congured to also control an addional relay assigned to the users BeltStaon. See
the GPO Relay secon for more details.
On the BaseStaon an acve Talk buon is not required to send a Call signal, and
the Call signal is routed to the channel selected for monitoring. On the BeltStaon a
Call signal is sent only when the Talk buon is enabled, and only on the channel(s)
selected for Talk.
