Drive Proles
Racestart
The Racestart program provides a sportier feel
and enables maximum acceleration from a
standstill.
Conditions:
●
The steering wheel direction must be
straight (pointing forwards).
●
Auto Hold must be deactivated
›››page200.
●
The position of the gear selector must be in
D or B.
How to activate Racestart
1. Press hard on the brake pedal with your left
foot and hold it down for at least 1 second.
2. While keeping the brake pedal depressed,
simultaneously press the accelerator pedal
fully down with the right foot (kick-down
›››page158).
3. After fully depressing the accelerator (kick-
down) for more than 1 second, quickly
remove your left foot from the brake
pedal, while keeping the accelerator fully
depressed. The vehicle starts with maxi-
mum acceleration.
Finally, if it was activated previously, reactivate
the Auto Hold function.

Always adapt your driving style to the traf-
c conditions.
●
Only use the Racestart program when road
and traic conditions permit, and make sure
your manner of driving and accelerating the
vehicle does not inconvenience or endanger
other road users.
●
Please note that if you use the programme
Racestart in combination with ESC Sport or
ESC OFF, the wheels may slip and the vehicle
may skid, especially on slippery roads. Acci-
dent hazard!
●
At low battery state of charge values, the
Racestart performance will be progressively
limited.
●
Racestart can be used with all driving pro-
les. When the brake pedal is released, the
Range/Comfort provides a softer start and
the Performance/CUPRA prole a sportier
start.
Note
●
It is possible that after dynamic driving or
using the Racestart program, the tempera-
ture of some of the vehicle's components
may have risen considerably. In this case,
Racestart will still be available, but perform-
ance may be limited to avoid damage. Full
performance will be available again after a
cooling down period.
●
When accelerating with the Racestart pro-
gram, certain elements of the vehicle are
put under high stress, which can lead to in-
creased wear.
●
Racestart is not recommended on steep
slopes, with a fully loaded vehicle or when
towing a trailer.
