Pin A13 Key i/p
This input has to be connected to the switched side of the key switch. The other side of the key switch has to
be connected to the battery positive supply.
A 10 A fuse has to be connected between the battery positive supply and the key switch. The position of the
fuse should be as close as possible to the tap-off point for the key switch supply.
Pin A14 Contactor supply o/p
This output is the positive supply to the vehicle’s contactors and coils (line contactor, electro mechanical brake,
power steer). The voltage level of this supply corresponds to the vehicle’s battery voltage. The maximum supply
current from this pin is 9A.
Pin A15 Contactor 1 o/p (Line)
This has to be connected to the negative side of the Line Contactor coil. The controller is driving this output.
The maximum rating for this connection is 3A and it is fully protected for use with inductive loads.
Pin A16 Contactor 2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)
This pin can have different configurations (see “Menu 2 “Controller Setup””).
In traction software only it can be connected to the negative side of the Electro Mechanical Brake coil. The
maximum rating for this connection is 3A and it is fully protected for use with inductive loads.
In both traction and pump software it can be used to drive a cooling fan when motor and/or controller
temperature sensors signal that the temperature is above a specified threshold.
NOTICE!
If and electromagnetic brake is used connected to the Pin 16 the setting M1.5-1 Hill hold
enable ”Off/HH/S”must be set to 0. Refer to parameter 5M1.2-3 Neutral brake-end delay
“NBrkEnd”” for further details.
Pin A17 Contactor 3 o/p (Powersteer - Fan control)
This pin can have different configurations (see “Menu 2 “Controller Setup””).
In both traction and pump software it can be connected to the negative side of the Power Steer Contactor coil.
The maximum rating for this connection is 3A and it is fully protected for use with inductive loads.
In both traction and pump software it can be used to drive a cooling fan when motor and/or controller
temperature sensors signal that the temperature is above a specified threshold.
Pin A18 Digital o/p -- Remote LED or Brake lights or Drive OK
The function of this output is set in “Menu 2 “Controller Setup”” for both traction and pump applications.
Depending on the application considered, it can be used or as a remote LED, or as a Drive OK signal or, for
traction only, as a brake light.
Pin A19 Supply 12V -- 70mA max.
A 12V supply is available for electronic accelerator or potentiometers. The maximum supply current is 70mA.
Pin A20 CAN + supply.
This pin has different specification depending on the hardware available.
In Simga2NControllers with non-isolated CAN bus, this pin is a 12V supply available for external CAN isolator
modules or other loads. The maximum supply current is 70mA.
In Simga2NControllers with isolated CAN bus (part number ending with letter C), this pin is the actual CAN
supply. The CAN bus can be supplied with voltages from 9 to 30 V. The maximum drawn current is 10 mA.
NOTICE!
In isolated-CAN version of the Simga2NController, when supplying the CAN bus with external
24V, pay attention to DMC Calibrator model before connect it. DMC Calibrators later than
serial number D20340439 and without RS232 and Switch on the back can be supplied with
more than 12V.
