APPENDIX C Analogue Input tuning
This short guide will explain how to tune an analogue input.
WARNING!
These procedures are to be followed with wheels off the ground and vehicle in neutral (no direction
switches selected), i.e. “Pin A1 Forward i/p” and “Pin A2 Reverse i/p” not active.
Tuning of an Accelerator pedal
1. With the accelerator fully released, enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software and take note of the value al
line #10.
2. With the accelerator fully pressed, enter Menu 10 “Test” for traction softwareand take note of the value al
line #10.
3. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction software and set parameter M1.6-4 Accelerator pot minimum
voltage level “AccMin”” as the voltage level found at point 1).
4. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction softwareand set parameter M1.6-5 Accelerator pot maximum
voltage level “AccMax”” as the voltage level found at point 2).
Tuning of an Brake pedal
1. With the brake pedal fully released, enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al
line #12.
2. With the brake pedal fully pressed, enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al
line #12.
3. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction softwareand set parameter M1.7-1 Brake pot minimum voltage
level “BrkMin”” as the voltage level found at point 1).
4. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction software and set parameter M1.7-2 Brake pot maximum voltage
level “BrkMax”” as the voltage level found at point 2).
Tuning of a Steer potentiometer
1. Full steer to left, enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #14.
2. Set the wheels straight, enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #14.
3. Full steer to right, enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #14.
4. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction softwareand set parameter M1.8-1 Steer pot minimum voltage
level”StrMin”” as the voltage level found at point 1).
5. Enter “Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction software” and set parameter “M1.8-2 Steer pot middle point voltage
level ”StrMid”” as the voltage level found at point 2).
6. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction softwareand set parameter M1.8-3 Steer pot maximum voltage
level ”StrMax”” as the voltage level found at point 3).
Tuning of a potentiometer connected to AI2 (used for torque or speed limiting)
1. With the potentiometer fully turned to the side which should correspond to 0% (according to user convention),
enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #12.
2. With the potentiometer fully turned to the side which should correspond to 100% (according to user
convention), enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #12.
Tuning of a potentiometer connected to AI3 (used for torque or speed limiting)
7. With the potentiometer fully turned to the side which should correspond to 0% (according to user convention),
enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #14.
8. With the potentiometer fully turned to the side which should correspond to 100% (according to user
convention), enter “Menu 10 “Test” for traction software” and take note of the value al line #14.
9. Enter Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction softwareand set parameter M1.8-1 Steer pot minimum voltage
level”StrMin”” as the voltage level found at point 1).
10. Enter “Menu 1 “Adjustment” for traction software” and set parameter “M1.8-3 Steer pot maximum voltage
level ”StrMax”” as the voltage level found at point 2).
