M8.2-1 Driver output 2 configuration for traction“Drv2Cfg”
This sets the configuration for Driver Output 2.
If set to 0, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)” of 35 way connector).
The EM brake will close when at least one of the following conditions has held once (* See note 1):
i. Speed is below “M1.2-2 Zero speed threshold ”ZSpdTh””.
ii. Speed is below M1.2-1 Speed threshold to enter End-of-Braking (EoB) mode ”SpdThEoB
and “M1.9-1 Electric brake delay “EBrkDly”” is elapsed
iii. A failure occurs (regardless the of the motor speed).
If set to 1, digital output 2 is activated if motor temperature is higher than threshold “M8.2-3 Motor
temperature threshold “MotTmpTh” and deactivated when motor temperature gets lower than
threshold “M8.2-3 Motor temperature threshold “MotTmpTh””- 8 °C of hysteresis.
If set to 2, digital output 2 is activated if controller temperature is higher than threshold M8.2-4
Controller temperature threshold “CtrTmpTh””, and deactivated when controller temperature gets
lower than threshold “M8.2-4 Controller temperature threshold “CtrTmpTh”- 8 °C of hysteresis .
If set to 3, digital output 2 is activated if motor temperature is higher than threshold “M8.2-3 Motor
temperature threshold “MotTmpTh”” OR if controller temperature is higher than threshold M8.2-4
Controller temperature threshold “CtrTmpTh””, while it is deactivated when motor temperature gets
lower than threshold M8.2-3 Motor temperature threshold “MotTmpTh”- 8 °C of hysteresis AND
controller temperature gets lower than threshold M8.2-4 Controller temperature threshold
“CtrTmpTh””- 8 °C of hysteresis.
If set to 4, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
Please notice that with this option selected, if a failure occurs in the Controller, EM brake will not be
applied until there a sufficient low speed. This can avoid very harsh braking.
This option is highly NOT suggested on vehicles not equipped with mechanical brake.
This option is not compatible with speed mode control (“M2-1 Control Mode “Spd/Torq”” set to 0).
