• If set to 5, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)” of 35 way connector).
The EM brake will close when the following condition has held once (* See note 1):
i. Speed is below “M1.2-2 Zero speed threshold ”ZSpdTh””.
Please notice that with this option selected, if a failure occurs in the Controller, EM brake will not be
applied until there a sufficient low speed. This can avoid very harsh braking.
This option is highly NOT suggested on vehicles not equipped with mechanical brake.
This option is not compatible with speed mode control (“M2-1 Control Mode “Spd/Torq”” set to 0).
• If set to 6, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)” of 35 way connector).
The EM brake will close when at least one of the following conditions has held once (* See note 1):
i. Speed is below “M1.2-2 Zero speed threshold ”ZSpdTh””.
ii. A failure occurs (regardless the of the motor speed).
• If set to 7, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)” of 35 way connector).
The EM brake will close when the following condition has held once (* See note 1):
i. Speed is below “M1.2-2 Zero speed threshold ”ZSpdTh”” and “M1.9-1 Electric brake delay
“EBrkDly”” elapsed.
• If set to 8, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)” of 35 way connector).
The EM brake will close when at least one of the following conditions has held once (* See note 1):
i. Speed is below “M1.2-2 Zero speed threshold ”ZSpdTh”” and “M1.9-1 Electric brake delay
“EBrkDly”” elapsed.
ii. A failure occurs (regardless the of the motor speed).
• If set to 9, electro-magnetic brake function is assigned to digital output driver 2 (“Pin A16 Contactor
2 o/p (Magnet Brake - Fan control)” of 35 way connector).
The EM brake will close when the following condition holds (* See note 1):
i. Speed is below “M1.2-2 Zero speed threshold ”ZSpdTh”” and “M1.9-1 Electric brake delay
“EBrkDly”” elapsed.
• If set to 10, No function will be assigned to digital output 2. Under this condition, the output is available
to be driven Via CAN. The user is therefore free to map in a CAN message (see [1] for details) the
command to autonomously switch on and off the output
•
Once one of those conditions has hold true, the EM brake will close regardless of the actual
motor speed. If, for example with Option set to #4, motor speed is recognised below “M1.2-1
Speed threshold to enter End-of-Braking (EoB) mode ”SpdThEoB”” but then for some reason
the motor accelerates again (i.e. rolling forward of backwards on a slope), the EMbrake will
close anyway when “M1.9-1 Electric brake delay “EBrkDly”” is expired.
Mind that Option #9, on the other side, is designed to allow rolling backward or forward and
will close the EM brake only when the motor stayed at zero speed for a certain time.
