M1.1-9 Foot brake torque “FBrake”
This parameter is active only in torque mode.
This sets the strength of the braking when the brake pedal is fully operated, i.e. the voltage from the footbrake
potentiometer is equal to the setting of the parameter “M1.7-2 Brake pot maximum voltage level “BrkMax””.
The setting is a percentage of maximum motor torque. The maximum motor torque is defined by “Maximum
motor current” (adjustable in “Menu 3 “Autotuning””), assumed to be 100% of torque.
M1.1-10 Foot brake ramp time “FBrkRamp”
In Torque Control mode this sets the time taken to ramp from no braking torque to full braking torque when
the brake pedal is operated. Increasing the value gives a smoother but longer transition from drive to braking.
In Speed Control mode this sets the time taken to ramp down the speed form 100% to zero (0%) or from the
active speed limit to 0% (depending on “M2-13 Variable/Constant ramp time “CnRmpTm””), when the
footbrake pedal is operated and fully pressed (100% value). In case neutral breaking torque was applied prior
to pressing the footbrake, the ramp is decreased proportionally to the brake pedal position (see “Brake pot
maximum voltage level “BrkMax”M1.7-2Brake pot maximum voltage level “BrkMax”” for more explanation).
Increasing the value gives a smoother but longer transition to zero speed.
M1.1-11 Drive torque reduction time “DrTrqRtm”
This parameter is active only in torque mode.
This sets the time taken to ramp down from full driving torque to zero torque when a brake operation is
required (direction, footbrake, neutral). Increasing the value gives a smoother but longer transition from drive
to braking.
Too long values (i.e. 2s) give a smooth transition but a bad drive feeling. The suggested value for this setting is
between 0.3s and 1s.
M1.1-12 Brake torque reduction time “BrTrqRtm”
This parameter is active only in torque mode.
This sets the time taken to ramp down from full braking torque to zero torque when brake operation (direction,
footbrake, neutral) is ended and a drive condition is detected. Increasing the value gives a smoother but longer
transition from braking to driving.
Too long values (i.e. 2s) give a smooth transition but a bad drive feeling. The suggested value for this setting is
between 0.3s and 1s.
M1.1-13 Halt brake torque “HltBrake”
This parameter is active only in torque mode.
This sets the strength of the braking when a “Halt” operation is commanded by the DS402 profile. For details
please refer to [1]. The setting is a percentage of maximum motor torque. The maximum motor torque is
defined by “Maximum motor current” (adjustable in “Menu 3 “Autotuning””), assumed to be 100% of torque.
M1.1-14 Halt brake ramp time “HltRamp”
In Torque Control mode this sets the time taken to ramp from null braking torque demand to full braking torque
(100% of torque) when a “Halt” operation is commanded by the DS402 profile. For details please refer to [1].
Increasing the value gives a smoother but longer transition from drive to braking.
Example: if “Hltbrake” is set to 10% and “HltRamp” is set to 10s the time to apply “Hltbrake” torque is 1.0s.
In Speed Control mode this sets the time taken to ramp down the speed form 100% to zero (0%) or from the
active speed limit to 0% (depending on “M2-13 Variable/Constant ramp time “CnRmpTm””), when a “Halt”
operation is commanded by the DS402 profile. For details please refer to [1]. Increasing the value gives a
smoother but longer transition to zero speed.
