6.5 Recalculation
It is possible to alter one or more parameters, for example the maximum desired motor current, after an autotuning
procedure has been performed. To gain advantage of this change it is possible to do another auto tuning, but it is also
possible to perform a recalculation of the parameters based upon this change.
For the recalculation process it is necessary (after changing the desired parameters) to set the M4-15 Recalculation after
changing one of the adjustments of this menu marked with one star” to 1 and switch off the controller. Then wait a few
seconds, switch on the controller and wait for line contactor to close and for the OK message on the Calibrator’s first
page.
The recalculation process is suggested after changing one or more of the following parameters:
Cal.

! VERY IMPORTANT
If a failure occurs during autotuning (Failure code greater than 15 see 13.1 Error Codes) autotuning stops.
If a failure is present before starting autotuning it is not possible to init the autotuning procedure.
6.6 Fine Motor Tuning
6.6.1 How to have more torque.
If the starting torque or the full torque is not strong enough do the actions indicated in the following list.
1) Be sure that autotuning procedure has been executed and ended properly with no failure code.
2) If M4-9 Maximum RMS motor current is lower than controller maximum current increase it and execute
recalculation procedure (see paragraph 6.5 Recalculation). This operation is possible in case the motor can
manage an higher current.
6.6.2 How to have more power.
If the maximum power is not enough check the following:
1) Be sure that autotuning procedure has been executed properly with no failure code.
2) If M4-9 Maximum RMS motor current is lower than controller maximum current increase it and execute
recalculation procedure (see paragraph 6.5 Recalculation). This operation is possible in case the motor can
manage an higher current.
3) Increase parameter M6-14 Maximum radius voltage “Vmodmax”” and execute recalculation procedure (see
paragraph “6.5 Recalculation”).
6.6.3 How to have more speed
If the autotuning procedure has been completed successfully, increase “4.12* Maximum Motor Frequency” and perform
a recalculation.
6.6.4 Motor is vibrating or driving unstable.
Torque mode
1) Be sure that autotuning procedure has been executed and ended properly with no failure code.
Speed Mode
1) Be sure that autotuning procedure has been executed and ended properly with no failure code.
2) Reduce PI Speed gains (settings M5-1 Proportional gain speed controller Kp Spd””, “M5-2 Integral gain speed
controller Ki Spd”, “M5-5 Proportional gain speed controller below threshold KpSpdLow”” and “M5-6 Integral
gain speed controller below threshold KiSpdLow””) in Menu 5 “PMS Motor Setup”.
