TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
7 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Passenger Window Down
Relay Output circuit.
Press the window switch to the Down position while observing the test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly when the switch is pressed?
All
Yes → Go To 8
No → Go To 12
8 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Passenger Window Up Relay
Output circuit.
Press the window switch to the Up position and observe the test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly when the switch is pressed?
All
Yes → Go To 9
No → Go To 11
9 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12 volts, check the Passenger Window Up
Relay Output circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
All
Yes → Go To 10
No → Check the Window Up Relay Ground and repair as necessary. If
the ground is good, replace the relay.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
10 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12 volts, check the Passenger Window Down
Relay Output circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
All
Yes → Test Complete.
No → Check the Window Down Relay Ground and repair as necessary.
If the ground is good, replace the relay.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
11 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Window Motor connector.
Remove the Passenger Up Relay
Measure the resistance of the Passenger Window Up Relay Output circuit between
the Relay connector and the Window Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes → Replace the Passenger Window Up Relay.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No → Repair the Passenger Window Up Relay Output wire for an open.
