5.8.2 Adjusting the contact pressure of the carrier roller
The contact pressure of the carrier roller must be adapted
to the relevant sewing material.
Correct setting
The sewing material does not slip and is fed through correctly.

1. Loosen the screw (2).
2. Move the cylinder (1):
• T
o increase the contact pressure:
Move the cylinder (1) towards the front
of the machine.
• T
o reduce the contact pressure:
Move the cylinder (1) towards the rear of the machine.
3. Tighten the screw (2).
Separating the thread chain without a thread
cutter
For machines without a thread cutter, the fabric deflector (4)
can be used during linking as a cutting knife for the thread chain.
Risk of crushing from moving parts.
Switch off the sewing machine before adjusting
the contact pressure of the carrier roller.
