1.2 Points of maintenance
Chain tightness (drive) - (1)
Checking the track tightness:
m
The slack chains may jump off the
sprocket wheels and increase wear
m
The too tight chains increase the wear of bearings and of the chain,
A
The chain is correctly tightened, if the play of the chain is between 20 and 30 mm.
Adjustment of chain tightness:
The grease tensioner of the drive chains
can be filled through the grease nipple
behind the side lids.
- Open the valve (A) (behind the grease
nipple).
- Using the grease gun fill the grease
tensioner through the grease nipple
(B) until the required chain tightness is
achieved.
- Shutoff valve (A)
- Drive the paver forward and backward
and measure the adjustment again to
check the adjustment.
