6.3.9 UPS and Critical Load
Shutdown
To
perform maintenance
or
service
on the critical load, shut down
power
to the
load:
1. Turn off all
equipment
that is being
powered
by the
UPS
.
2.
Perform
the LOAD OFF
procedure
in
paragraph
6.3.12.
The
output
and
bypass backfeed
relay
(if
fitted)
open,
and the
power module
is
turned
of
f
.
3.
Perform
the
battery charger
off
procedure
in
paragraph
6.3.10.
The input and
battery
relay
open.

ARNING
Power
is
present
inside the UPS
cabinet
after the
upstream
input
feeder
circuit
breakers are
opened because
of the installed
external battery cabinet.
4. Open the UPS Input
switc
h.
5. If the UPSs are wired for dual input, open the
Bypass
input
switc
h.
6. Open the
Maintenance Bypass
switc
h.
7. Open the UPS input and
bypass feeder
circuit
break
ers.
8. Open all
external battery break
ers.

Control
To turn the
battery charger on:
1.
Select
the CONTROLS symbol on the main
menu
bar. The
System
Control
screen
is
displa
y
ed.
2.
Select
Battery on the
System
Control
screen.
3. On the Batter y
System
Control
screen, select
the RESTING
CHARGING
command,
then
press the
RETURN
pushbut
ton.

battery charger
of

1.
Select
the CONTROLS symbol on the main

bar. The
System
Control
screen
is

ed.
2.
Select
Battery on the
System
Control
screen.
3. On the Batter y
System
Control
screen, select
the CHARGING RESTING
