8.8.5.6 Maintenance of rolling bearings
In order to ensure reliable fan operation and thus its availability, measurements should be
made at regular inte
rvals, but at least once a week, of
bearing temperatures and
speed of vibration
and relevant documentation should be prepared.
Records are the basis for taking appropriate actions. These activities are, for example,
maintenance work on bearings, clutch, mo
tor or impeller.
If, during operation, the bearing temperature rises and / or increased vibrations occur, the fan
must be switched off immediately to avoid any harmful consequences.
The bearing should be dismantled and inspected.
If the bearing shows dar
k, matted, rough or polished spots on the rolling surfaces, a new
bearing must be installed.
8.8.5.7 Notes on lubrication intervals
Lubrication intervals depend on the lubricant loading by friction, rotational speed, load and
temperature.
The specified lubricat
ion intervals refer to a temperature of 75 °C. In the event of
discrepancies, adjust the lubrication intervals according to
Table 24.
Lubricants chemical composition does not allow them to be mixed with each other.
