Installaon and Operaons Manual
The outdoor unit must be placed on a solid level base that can
support it’s weight. In many cases, a snow stand will be required
to keep the lower edge of the evaporator above the level of the
average local snow depth. It is recommended that the unit or
snow stand would rest on a concrete foundaon slab. If concrete
blocks are used they must rest on suitable base as not to sink or
sele over me.
The unit should not be posioned next to noise sensive walls,
for example, next to a bedroom.
Care must be exercised in unit placement so that recirculaon
of the outdoor air does not occur. This causes lower output and
impaired eciency.
The back of the unit must be sheltered from direct wind, which
negavely aects the defrost funcon. The air coil side of the
unit should face the wall of the home. Some condensaon may
drip from the drainage hole located at the base of the unit.
Make sure that water can properly drain way from the unit, and
home.
Do not place the unit directly on the lawn or other non-solid
surface. See illustraon below.
If there is a risk of snow or ice falling from a roof, a protecve
roof or cover must be erected to protect the heat pump, pipes
and wiring. See illustraon below.
