PoE Redundant Power System
IfyouareconnectinganoptionalPoEredundantpowersupply(C2RPS‐POE),refertothe
installationinstructionssuppliedwiththeSecureStackC2RPS‐POE.Theswitchis
connectedtoaC2RPS‐POEusingaC2RPS‐POEcable.
Ifyouareinstallingtheswitchasastandalonedevice,proceedto“ConnectingtoConsole

PortforLocalManagement”onpage 3‐18.Ifyouareinstal lingswitchesinastack
configuration,proceedto“StackManagerSelection”onpage 3‐17.
Stack Manager Selection
Whenyouinstallandconnectallthehigh‐speedstackingcablestotheswitchesinthe
stackbeforeapplyingpowertotheswitches,thefollowingoccurs:
•Theswitchthatwillmanage(Manager)thestackisautomaticallyestablishedwithall
otherswitchesestablishedasMemberswitchesinthestack.Whentheswitches
completetheirinitializations,oneoftheswitchesinthestackwillilluminateits
ManagerLED,indicatingthatitisthestackManager.TheManagerLEDoneach
Memberswitchwillbeoff.
•ThehierarchyoftheswitchesthatwillfunctionasbackupManagerisalsodetermined
incasethecurrentManager
malfunctions,ispowereddown,orisdisconnectedfrom
thestack.
•TheConsoleportoneachMemberswitchisdeactivated.OnlytheConsoleportonthe
Managerswitchisactiveforout‐ofbandconfigurationtosettheIPaddress,
password,andotherconfigurationsettings.

proceedto“ConnectingtoConsolePortfor
LocalManagement”onpage 3‐18.
Caution: The C2RPS-POE power supply does not support non-PoE compliant
SecureStack switches. Do not try to connect the power cable from this C2RPS-POE
power supply to any SecureStack switch that does not have a “P” suffix in the model name
(for example, C3G124-24). Otherwise, damage to the device may result.
Precaución: La fuente de poder C2RPS-POE no es compatible con switches
SecureStack que no cumplan con el estándar PoE. No intente conectar el cable de
corriente de esta fuente de poder C2RPS-POE a ningún switch SecureStack que no
tenga el sufijo “P” en el nombre del modelo (por ejemplo, C3G124-24). De lo contrario, el
