Guide to the Home Screen
e following icons and menus are displayed on the home screen.
A
Copy
Enters Copy mode that allows you to copy a document.
Print Photos
Enters Print Photos mode that allows you to print photos on your memory card.
Scan
Enters Scan mode that allows you to scan a document or a photo.
B

to display hidden menu icons.
Fax
Enters Fax mode that allows you to send a fax.
More Functions
Enters More Functions mode that allows you to access a variety of printing features such as
copying photos, printing photos in dierent layouts, and copying or printing on a CD/DVD.
Setup
Enters Setup mode that allows you to make maintenance, printer setup, and network settings.
Help Displays help information on basic operations, meaning of the icons displayed on the LCD
screen, and troubleshooting information.
Quiet Mode
Displays Quiet Mode setting that allows you to reduce the noise the printer makes. However,
enabling this may reduce print speed. Depending on the paper type and print quality settings
you selected, there may be no dierence in the printer's noise level. This is a shortcut to the
following menu.
Setup > Printer Setup > Quiet Mode
C
Turns on when the fax receiving mode is set to automatic.
D
Displays the network connection status. Press this icon to access the menus for network setup or for checking the
network settings as described below. You can also access the network menus from the Setup mode.
❏ When the printer is not connected to a network
Press an icon of your desired connection method, and press Start Setup on the next screen to display the
network setup menus. To setup the printer for use on a network using the menus, see the Network Guide.
❏ When the printer is connected to a network
Press See Connection Details to display the setting information such as the printer's IP address. Press Menu to
display the network setup menus. Press Details to display the menus for check the status such as a menu for
printing a network status sheet.
