4.4.1.5 Anti-crash Sensor
The safety anti-crash sensor designed on both sides of carriage can detect the media
circumstance beforehand and protect the print heads from a crush hazard. While the anti-
crash sensor detects that the edge of media is cocked, the machine will initiate an emergency
stop to prevent print heads from damage.
4.4.2 Y-axis (Beam moving system)
4.4.2.1 Servo Driver Pack
Please refer to 4.4.1.1 for digital.
4.4.2.2 Servo motor
SD1 controls the SM1 which is responsible in driving the left worm gear while SD2
controls the SM2 which responsible for the right worm gear. Both servomotors should be
synchronized so the beam assembly will move parallel to X-axis of the carriage.
4.4.2.3 Limited switch and optical switch
There are in total 4 limited switches and 2 optical switches. These limit switches are
installed near the end of each worm gear. The 2 optical switches serve as home position for
carriage beam, while the limit switches serve as end protection switch. These switches will
stop the carriage beam to move further in case the carriage over shoot due to servomotor
malfunctions.
