Why is the flow measurement inaccurate on my Fox FT2 Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      John HortonJul 27, 2025
If your Fox Measuring Instruments flow measurement seems inaccurate, ensure that the flowmeter is installed with the Flow Direction Arrow properly pointing in the direction of flow. For insertion flowmeters, verify the insertion depth of the sensor/probe is correct as per section 2.2.2 and Figure 2-1. Also, ensure there are at least ten diameters of straight pipe upstream and five downstream. Finally, verify the internal cross-sectional area of the pipe is correctly programmed into the flowmeter through the front panel (section 4.1.10).

What to do if the FT2 flowmeter Fox Measuring Instruments is not responding to flow?
    • T
      Thomas PriceAug 1, 2025
If the FT2 flowmeter (Fox Measuring Instruments) is not responding to flow, first check that adequate power is supplied. If you have a flowmeter with a display reading zero, blow on the sensor to see if you get a response. If nothing happens, put a damp rag or sponge in contact with the sensor to see if a reading occurs. Contact Fox Customer Service with this information.

Why does the velocity measurement seem low on my Fox FT2?
    • P
      Paul NorrisAug 6, 2025
If the velocity measurement on your Fox Measuring Instruments seems low: * Ensure the probe is oriented properly, as described in Section 2.2.3. * Clean the sensor, following the instructions in Section 5.2, Preventative Maintenance.

What to do if the velocity measurement is erratic or fluctuating on Fox FT2?
    • S
      Samuel OwenAug 11, 2025
If the velocity measurement of your Fox Measuring Instruments is erratic or fluctuating, possible causes include: 1. Very turbulent flow: Adjust dampening per section 4.1.10. 2. Dirty sensor: Clean the sensor, referring to section 5.2. 3. Probe not mounted securely: Ensure the probe is mounted securely without vibration. 4. Improper installation: Install the meter according to the guidelines in Figure 2-4. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the sensor may be broken, or there may be a malfunction in the flow meter, and you should return it to Fox for repair, referring to section 6.2 for shipping instructions.

How to troubleshoot a Fox FT2 Measuring Instruments unit that will not power-up?
    • M
      Martha HamptonAug 16, 2025
If your Fox Measuring Instruments unit will not power on: * Ensure the power is turned on. * Replace the fuse if it is bad (see section 5.5). * Verify 24 VDC input power if you suspect a bad power supply.

Why is my Fox Measuring Instruments display reading above zero flow when there is no flow?
    • P
      philipwilliamsAug 21, 2025
If the display and/or 4-20mA signal on your Fox Measuring Instruments reads above zero flow when there is no flow in the pipe, and the reading is less than 5% of full scale, this is likely a normal condition caused by convection flow created by the heated sensor.
