Camera: Position Calibration
This tool allows you to set image offsets at multiple points around the camera snapshot. Whenever
the snapshot function is used on materials of similar height, this calibration will be used to ne tune
the camera result. You may need to add additional calibration for materials of different heights.
1. On the Touch Screen, click the settings icon and then click “Advanced”. Scroll to the bottom of
the page and click “Calibrate Position”. Click “Conrm” and follow the on-screen instructions. They
will begin by telling you, “Height calibration and stitching need to be performed prior to proceeding.”
2. Click “Activate”. This will cause the laser head to move to a xed position in the workspace.
3. Place a sheet of thin material (a sheet of lined paper works well) under the red beam dot. It
will be helpful to mark the page with a “+” symbol to create an identiable target to align with.
Remember, your machine’s interior should be empty, including removing the honeycomb tray.
Click “Done”.
4. Click “Measure”. The laser head will move to a xed position in the workspace. Note, that when
you select “Measure” for the rst time, and the laser head moves to that xed location, it will set a
base height. You will also need to click “Done” between measurements. Place your three stacked
quarters under the red beam dot. Click Measure and repeat until 5 measurements are taken.
Note that the editable height default is 5.25 millimeters, the height of 3 US quarters. This number
can be adjusted for other coins or measuring blocks. After the 5 measurements, the Total Height
Measurement should be equal to or greater than 30 millimeters.
5. Click “View”. You will see the camera snapshot of the interior workbed. Click “Done”.
6. Click “Calibrate” and then click “Conrm”.
7. You will be taken to a new screen on the touch panel. At the top of the touch screen, the image
you took is displayed. You can zoom and move the crosshairs with your ngers. Pick a spot,
preferably your marked crosshairs, and manually maneuver the crosshairs over the mark you put
on the paper. Click “Set Calibration Point”. The red dot will move into position over that spot.
8. Next, look at the position of the red dot in the interior of the machine. If it is not directly over your
target, use the slow jog buttons to bring the red dot exactly aligned with the mark.
9. When you are satised they are aligned, click “Set Offset Point”.
10. You can back up or repeat the process, if desired. Click “Finish”.
11. Click “Conrm”.
