Double-check the URL or try a different URL. If the error message still appears, disconnect from the ISP connection and close your browser, then reconnect and open the browser.

How to connect Gateway E-Series Desktop to the Internet?

Johnny HernandezAug 26, 2025
If you're using a dial-up modem, ensure the modem cable is plugged into the modem jack, not the Ethernet network jack. If you're using a cable or DSL modem, ensure the modem cable is plugged into the Ethernet network jack, not the modem jack. Also, verify that your account with your ISP is correctly set up and that there are no issues with your modem.

Make sure the Ethernet cable is connected to the Ethernet jack on your Gateway Desktop. Check that all computers and the router are plugged into a working electrical outlet and turned on. If using a router, try rebooting it by unplugging it, waiting five seconds, and plugging it back in. Ensure all computers on the network have the same workgroup name and subnet mask. If you assigned IP addresses, verify that each computer has a unique one.
