8-5-1-3 Loading Latest Version User Manuals
When required, the existing Vivid q N scanner User documentation may be updated by loading the User
Manual latest versions from the USB Flash Drive containing the full software version and supporting
documentation.
NOTE: This procedure is valid for Vivid q N systems running BT12 software later than Build 31.
As described in the procedure below, it is not necessary to reinstall the software since the option is
provided to load only the latest version of the User Manuals (in all languages).

Step Instruction Expected Result
1. Perform a complete shutdown of the system.
2. Remove the battery and remove all external
devices/ peripherals currently connected to the system.
3. Insert the USB Flash Drive containing the full software
version and supporting documentation into a USB port
on the rear Panel.
4. On the console, hold down the <ON/OFF> button for
three seconds.
The system powers ON and when system boot-up from the USB Flash Drive is
complete, the following message is displayed prompting you to select the
required option:

Load Installation
then press <Enter>.
Note:
Since the existing User documentation is recognized by
the system, an additional button Update User Manual
on the right provides the option to load that latest version
User Manual (without performing software installation)
File loading starts. While in progress, the following screen is displayed:
When complete (after approximately 10 minutes), the following screen opens:
