8-3-6 Fan Replacement Procedure
NOTE: This section describes the replacement procedure for the Fan Assembly which is supplied as
part of the Fans and Speaker Kit - Part No. 2412826.
8-3-6-1 Tools
Use the appropriate flat and Phillips-type screw drivers, as indicated in the fan replacement procedure.
8-3-6-2 Time Required
15 minutes
8-3-6-3 Preparation
Shut down the Vivid q N ultrasound unit, as described in Chapter 3 - System Setup.
8-3-6-4 Fan Removal Procedure
1) Remove the bearing handle, as described in the "Bearing Handle Removal Procedure" on page 8-2.
2.) Remove the Control Panel and Keyboard, as described in the "Control Panel and Keyboard
Removal Procedure" on page 8-10.
3.) Unscrew and remove the two screws that secure the Fan Assembly to the Bottom Assembly as
shown in Figure 8-59 below.

4.) Disconnect the speaker cable from the fan assembly, as shown in Figure 8-60 below
