Calibrating for Increased Measurement Accuracy
Calibration Choices
Calibration Choices
To choose the appropriate calibration method suited to your type of
measurement, follow these steps:
1. Set up the analyzer for your measurement:
• Select or .
• Enter operating parameters other than the default.
2. When performing some user-defined calibrations, you must select a
calibration kit to match the port(s) at your calibration reference
plane. A user two-port calibration requires you to select a calibration
kit for each port. One-port calibrations, such as user one-port, and
enhanced response, require you to select a calibration kit for only one
port. Refer to “The Calibration Reference Plane” on page 6-7 and
“Calibration Kits” on page 6-23.
3. Press the key to bring up the calibration choices for the type of
measurement you selected in step 1.
See Table 6-1 and Figure 6-4 for the calibration choices available for each
type of measurement. Later sections in this chapter discuss these
different types of calibrations, organized by measurement type. There is
also a discussion of a type of calibration called normalization.
