Copying Diagnostic Data to a Remote Host, USB Device, PC or UNIX Workstation
Syntax: copy crash-data <source> <destination> [<ip-addr> |< filename> |
unix | pc]
These commands copy the crash data content from a specified
source to a specified destination.
source: Specifies the source of the data, which can be tftp,
xmodem, command, usb, or any of the following switch files:
running configuration file
startup configuration file
crash-log (slots a -h, mm)
crash-data
event-log
command-output <command>
Note: When using ‘command-output’, put the desired CLI
command in double quotes, for example, “show system”.
Note: For 8200zl switches—When selecting mm as the source,
both the active and standby management modules’ crash data
is copied to a user-specified file. If no parameter is specified,
files from all modules (management and interface) are
concatenated.
destination: Specifies the target to be copied to, which can be:
tftp
xmodem
usb
startup-configuration file
command-file
flash
pub-key-file
options: The options are:
IP-Addr - tftp server address, required for tftp transfers
filename - filename to upload or download, required for
tftp and usb transfers
unix
pc
For example, to copy the switch’s crash data to a file in a PC:

[Enter] and start the
Xmodem command
sequence in your
terminal emulator.
