8.9.5 Interface Cable
The interface cable of 4BS is standard S/T interface cable. Pin 3 and pin 6 are TX ends,
and pin 4 and pin 5 are RX ends. Both ends are RJ-45 connectors.
8.9.6 Connecting Interface Cable
Step 1: Please determine which interface in 4BS is to be connected with the cable.
Step 2: Please confirm the ISDN type provided by the telecom carrier.
Step 3: Connect the cable.

If the line is an ISDN U interface line, please adapt it with NT1 by plugging one end
of the S/T interface cable to the S/T interface of NT1 and the other end to the BRI
interface of 4BS.

If the line is an ISDN BRI S/T interface line, please directly connect the cable to the
BRI interface of 4BS.
Step 4: Power on the router and check the status of READY indicator on the front panel
of the indicator. It is on when the module has completed self-check and works normally.
It is off when the module fails to pass the self-check. In this case, please contact the
local agent of Huawei.
Caution:
When connecting the cables, observe the identifiers on the interfaces to avoid wrong connection and
damage to the module and the router.
8.10 2S1B Module
Warning:
Plugging or unplugging the 2S1B module serial interface cable is prohibited when the router is powered on,
otherwise, the equipment or the module may be damaged.
8.10.1 Introduction
2S1B is an abbreviation for the 2-port sync/async serial interface and the 1-port BRI
S/T interface.
